University of Missouri Postdoctoral Association Travel Grant

For travel between August 1, 2009 to December 31, 2009

Deadline for submission: 5 p.m. Tuesday September 15, 2009

Awards will be announced Tuesday September 29, 2009

Eligibility

The MUPA Travel Grant provides $300 to defray the cost of attending a conference or meeting. To be eligible for this award, you must be a postdoc at MU, and had more than $300 in travel related expenses for travel that is relevant to your career between 8/1/2009 - 12/31/2009.
- Note: MU policy prohibits reimbursement for expenses incurred >60 days in the past.
Recipients must agree to serve on the travel award committee for the following cycle (1/1/2010 - 6/30/2010).

Scoring will be merit-based.
Applicants with easily understood presentation descriptions, including why their research is important, will score higher.
Oral presentations will be given preference over posters (supporting documentation required).

Travel: Airfare, mileage, taxi, bicycle rental, mass transit
Lodging
Conference fees
Travel for research, for example to gather data in another state or learn a technique in another lab, is allowable.
MU policy requires receipts for reimbursement. Save your receipts!

Complete the application and submit online. Don't forget to submit your CV to gitzenr@missouri.edu.
Provide a brief description (max 300 words) of your presentation. This is not your abstract, but should be written so as to be understood by a committee who may not have expertise in your field (i.e., minimize jargon).
If your application is selected, we will request your accepted abstract and/or other supporting documents (i.e., letter of invitation for oral presentations).
